CHT Group Advances Sustainability as Core Management Tool in 2025
The CHT Group has integrated sustainability into its corporate management strategy, as detailed in its 2025 Sustainability Report. This report highlights measurable progress in climate protection, transparency, and social responsibility, marking a significant step in the company’s commitment to sustainable practices.
A standout achievement for CHT was the recognition of its PIGMENTURA dyeing process, awarded the German Sustainability Award 2026 in the product category. This innovative technology emphasizes resource efficiency while providing tangible benefits to customers, underscoring the Group’s focus on sustainable innovation.
The company has also received an EcoVadis score of 81 points, achieving Gold status and ranking among the top five percent of companies in its industry globally. Furthermore, CHT was named a “Best Managed Company 2026” by a consortium including Deloitte Private and the Federation of German Industries (BDI).
In 2025, CHT enhanced its sustainability management framework, aligning its reporting with the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) to improve transparency and comparability of its sustainability performance. A global climate and water risk analysis was conducted across all sites, identifying further measures to mitigate environmental risks.
To reduce its environmental impact, CHT implemented several initiatives, including transitioning to renewable electricity at facilities in the UK, Brazil, and Shanghai. The company also invested in a photovoltaic system in Torreón and introduced a biomass-based heating system at its Dußlingen site. Automated Product Carbon Footprint calculations were introduced to enhance transparency throughout the value chain, enabling targeted actions to reduce product-specific emissions.
On the social responsibility front, over 95% of CHT employees worldwide now earn above the living wage level, with a goal to extend this commitment to all employees by 2030.
The advancements made in 2025 illustrate that sustainability at the CHT Group is evolving into a measurable and manageable system, driving innovation, competitiveness, and long-term business growth.
