Michelman to Showcase Sustainable Packaging Innovations at interpack 2026
Michelman, in collaboration with industry leaders, will host daily technical sessions at interpack 2026, focusing on sustainable packaging innovations. These presentations will emphasize the importance of collaboration among material experts, converters, equipment manufacturers, and brand owners in developing recyclable and compostable packaging solutions that meet regulatory standards.
The sessions will take place in Hall 8a, Stand B25, covering various topics:
- Day 1 (May 7): Unilever’s Anthony Johnson will discuss integrating sustainability into packaging strategies, highlighting the role of paperization in reducing plastic use.
- Day 2 (May 8): BOBST and Michelman will present advancements in barrier papers and mono-material structures that comply with the European Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR).
- Day 3 (May 9): Michelman’s Adam Graber will explore the development of water-based coatings for paper cups, aiming to replace traditional polyethylene liners.
- Day 4 (May 10): A session with HP will focus on enhancing digital printing capabilities for high-barrier paper packaging, emphasizing recyclability and food safety.
- Day 6 (May 12): Lactips and Michelman will discuss the creation of plastic-free coatings that meet dual end-of-life requirements, addressing the Single-Use Plastics Directive (SUPD).
- Day 7 (May 13): Michelman’s Tomasz Machnik will highlight the use of Nomar® coatings for protecting premium retail packaging.
