Tosca and Cabka Unveil New Circular Pallet to Enhance Supply Chain Sustainability
Tosca, in collaboration with Cabka, has launched the Tosca Circular Pallet (CP 1208), a Euro-sized solution aimed at addressing the increasing demands for sustainability and efficiency in supply chains. This new pallet is designed to meet the evolving needs of fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) companies and retailers facing stringent regulations and rising sustainability expectations.
The CP 1208 pallet features dimensions of 1200 x 800 mm, ensuring compatibility with existing Euro-size pallet handling systems, thus avoiding costly retrofits. Its rounded skid edges minimize damage during handling, enhancing operational efficiency. According to Laurent Le Mercier, EMEA President at Tosca, the pallet is a standardized, automation-ready alternative that supports a circular supply chain without disrupting current operations.
Cabka’s CEO Alex Masharov emphasized that the pallet exemplifies circular logistics by utilizing recycled plastic to create high-performance transport assets, promoting both efficiency and sustainability in supply chains.
The Tosca CP 1208 is designed to integrate seamlessly with Tosca’s reusable plastic crates, featuring integrated deck grooves for secure crate placement and RFID technology for improved traceability and supply chain visibility. Its hygienic, non-porous surface is ideal for environments where product safety is paramount, while its robust construction includes drainage holes to prevent moisture retention.
With an ergonomic design that includes top-deck handles and anti-slip features, the pallet enhances handling safety, reducing the risk of injuries in high-throughput environments. It is also more than 4 kg lighter than traditional wooden pallets, further easing manual handling.
The CP 1208 is engineered to comply with the EU’s Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), making it a future-proof alternative to wooden pallets that require heat treatment or fumigation. Made from 100% recycled plastic, it is designed for repair, reuse, and recycling, aligning with Tosca’s commitment to a pooling-based circular economy.
Le Mercier concluded that the Tosca CP 1208 not only meets regulatory requirements but also helps companies achieve operational excellence while advancing sustainable supply chain strategies. The launch of this pallet marks a significant step towards enhancing safety and sustainability in food and beverage supply chains.
