Sustainable Packaging Summit 2026 to Highlight Innovations and Regulatory Developments

The Sustainable Packaging Summit will take place from November 10 to 12, 2026, at the Jaarbeurs Event & Exhibition Centre in Utrecht, focusing on sustainability in the packaging industry. The event will feature a comprehensive agenda, including high-level panels, keynotes, and breakout sessions addressing the challenges and opportunities in sustainable packaging.

The first day will assess the strategic landscape and business mobilization, while the second will delve into the transformation of packaging materials. The final day will explore future innovations in the sector.

Keynote speakers include former Unilever CEO Paul Polman, who will engage in a discussion on strategic leadership alongside Michelle Gibbons from the European Brands Association. Major brands such as PepsiCo, Procter & Gamble, and Bel Group are also expected to participate.

A significant focus will be on the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), with representatives from the European Commission joining discussions led by EUROPEN’s Francesca Stevens. Additionally, the role of artificial intelligence in managing post-consumer waste will be a highlighted topic.

Workshops will cover specific themes, including a reflection on the PPWR’s progress and insights into the HolyGrail intelligent sorting initiative. The Brazilian Packaging Association will provide perspectives on innovation and regulation in South America.

The Summit will also feature the Sustainability Awards on November 11, recognizing outstanding achievements in sustainable packaging. Winners will be celebrated during a ceremony, followed by a networking event with food, drinks, and live music.

Networking opportunities will be abundant, including scheduled activities and a VIP session with industry leaders. With 49 exhibitors confirmed, the Summit promises to be a pivotal event for professionals in the packaging industry, offering insights into sustainable practices and innovative developments.
