Korozo to Showcase Sustainable Flexible Packaging Solutions at Interpack 2026
Korozo, a flexible packaging company based in Istanbul, Türkiye, will highlight its recyclable and monomaterial packaging solutions at Interpack 2026, scheduled for May 7–13 in Düsseldorf, Germany. The company emphasizes the need for sustainability to be integrated into all packaging processes and products, moving beyond mere claims to measurable actions.
Selin Bahar Mesulam, Korozo’s Chief Marketing and Growth Officer, stated that the company aims to promote a circular economy through high-performance, recyclable solutions. The focus will be on accelerating the adoption of single-polymer formats, allowing packaging to return to nature and reduce waste.
At the trade show, Korozo will present a range of products, including thermoforming films and stand-up pouches designed for meat, cheese, and dairy applications, which adhere to strict safety standards. The centerpiece of their showcase is the KoroRCY MDO-PE laminating film, which supports various packaging types while maintaining functionality and recyclability.
The flexible packaging market is expanding in both established and emerging economies, prompting Korozo to innovate with monomaterial constructions. Their products, such as high-barrier thermoforming films and stand-up pouches, merge functionality with sustainability, addressing the growing demand for eco-friendly packaging.
Korozo is also responding to global regulatory pressures, particularly the EU’s Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), which aims to reduce packaging waste and ensure recyclability. The company plans to have all its offerings recyclable by 2030 and aims for net-zero emissions by 2053.
Europe remains Korozo’s largest market, accounting for over 80% of its distribution. The company is also targeting North America, with ambitions to establish a $50 million business in the region. The growing emphasis on sustainable packaging in markets like Germany and the UK is driving demand for monomaterials that can be efficiently recycled.
As digital product passports become mandatory in Europe, Korozo’s sustainable solutions will help demonstrate the environmental impact and lifecycle of their products, highlighting the importance of data in sustainability claims. Korozo’s commitment to innovation and sustainability positions it as a key player in the evolving flexible packaging landscape.
