FCO Group Introduces Recyclable Packaging with 30% Plant-Based Content at Interzoo 2026

FCO Group has announced a breakthrough in sustainable packaging with the launch of a next-generation mono-material polyethylene (PE) solution, featuring 30% plant-based content. This innovative packaging, set to be showcased at Interzoo 2026 in Nuremberg, Germany, combines advanced MDO-PE technology with functional barrier coatings and vacuum metallization to ensure high-barrier performance while maintaining recyclability within the PE stream.

The new packaging solution is engineered to deliver low oxygen and moisture transmission rates, making it suitable for demanding applications, including dry and fatty pet food products. Key performance metrics include an oxygen transmission rate (OTR) of less than 0.065 cc/100 in²·day and a water vapor transmission rate (WVTR) of less than 0.161 g/100 in²·day, depending on film thickness. This high-performance material also offers strong seal integrity, ensuring product safety and longevity.
