Amcor has announced the expansion of its flexible packaging plant in Dongguan, China, with plans to add a 7,000 square meter manufacturing facility and an automated warehouse. This expansion will increase the total campus size to over 38,000 square meters, with completion expected by July 2027.

The new facility will incorporate advanced technologies, including automated solvent-free laminators, high-speed bag-making machines, and automated bag arranging systems. These upgrades aim to boost production capacity and support the development of recycle-ready packaging solutions for food, home, and personal care products.

Xin She, vice president and general manager of Amcor Flexibles China, emphasized the significance of this expansion, stating, ‘China is an important growth market for Amcor, and the Dongguan expansion represents an investment in the technologies and capabilities that will help shape the future of packaging.’ He added that the initiative aims to create a more efficient and intelligent manufacturing ecosystem to better serve customers and meet consumer demands.

This expansion aligns with Amcor’s commitment to sustainability and innovation in the packaging industry, reinforcing its position within a network of 23 manufacturing sites and two research and development centers in China.
