Sustainable Packaging Summit 2026 to Highlight PPWR and AI Innovations
The Sustainable Packaging Summit is set to take place from November 10 to 12, 2026, at the Jaarbeurs Event & Exhibition Centre in Utrecht, focusing on the latest trends and challenges in sustainable packaging.
The event will feature a comprehensive agenda, including high-level panels, keynotes, and breakout sessions. Each day will concentrate on different themes: the first day will assess the strategic landscape and business mobilization, the second will delve into transformation roadmaps for packaging materials, and the third will explore upcoming innovations.
Keynote speakers include former Unilever CEO Paul Polman, who will engage in a fireside chat and discuss strategic leadership with Michelle Gibbons from the European Brands Association. Major brands such as PepsiCo, Procter & Gamble, and Bel Group are expected to participate.
A significant highlight will be a panel discussion featuring representatives from the European Commission and EUROPEN’s Francesca Stevens, focusing on the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR). Additionally, the role of artificial intelligence in managing post-consumer waste will be a key topic.
Workshops will cover specific areas, including a two-year reflection on PPWR’s progress, the HolyGrail intelligent sorting initiative, and insights into innovation and regulation in South America, presented by the Brazilian Packaging Association (ABRE).
On November 11, the Summit will host the Sustainability Awards, recognizing outstanding contributions to sustainable packaging across various categories. Winners will receive crystal trophies, followed by a networking celebration featuring food, drinks, and live entertainment.
Finalists will participate in a Q&A session the following day, sharing insights into their innovative products from regions including Europe, North America, Asia, and South America.
The Summit will also provide ample networking opportunities, including scheduled activities and a VIP session with industry leaders. With 49 exhibitors confirmed, the event promises to be a pivotal gathering for professionals in the packaging industry.
