BGM Unveils Compact Range of Digital Finishing Machines for Labels

Date of publication: May 31, 2026

UK-based Bar Graphic Machinery (BGM) has launched the Compact series, a new line of finishing machines designed specifically for the digital label printing market. The Compact and Compact Pro models aim to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in finishing labels produced through various digital printing processes, including inkjet, toner, and LEP.

Managing Director Adam James highlighted the rapid growth of the digital label printing sector, emphasizing the need for finishing solutions that align with this expansion. He noted that approximately 80% of digitally printed labels can be effectively finished using standard gloss varnish or lamination combined with semi-rotary die-cutting. However, many printers currently use over-specified finishing lines, leading to inefficiencies and increased costs.

The Compact range addresses these challenges with a compact design, featuring a 2.5m-long frame for Compact and a 3.5m-long frame for Compact Pro. Both models offer:
– Speeds of up to 100m/min
– A web width of 370mm
– Options for self-wound or wet lamination
– A flexo unit for rotary flood varnish
– Semi-rotary die-cutting
– Slitting and matrix waste removal
– Dual rewind capabilities

The Compact Pro model includes an additional flexo station for light embellishments, such as spot varnish or cold foil. BGM backs its machines with a 36-month warranty on all manufactured parts, ensuring reliability and quality.

The Compact series was officially introduced during an Open House event at BGM’s headquarters in Bradford, UK, which attracted around 50 industry professionals, including label printers and equipment partners from across Europe. Attendees expressed enthusiasm for the new offerings, with Franck Vitali, Technical Manager at GIC, noting the importance of robust and productive machinery in the market.

As the Compact and Compact Pro models undergo final testing, they are set to become commercially available soon. Interested label printers can register for updates at sales@bargraphic.com. BGM also offers virtual sessions for those wanting to learn more about the Compact range.
